Curious what my process was for the @adobe piece for Cannes Lions this year? Swipe left to see.
I first started with two sketches for two general directions. The first route was more dynamic, less pictorial elements and more abstraction, more of my usual flowy lines. The second one was more detailed and illustrative with tons of little small elements, very much inspired by the work of artists like @kerbyrosanes . We chose a new direction somewhere in the middle.
Then I continued with a very rough sketch, just to get the main elements and the composition right, the dynamics etc. The final option was supposed to be in color so I started thinking about that early on.
Once the right composition was locked in I lowered the opacity of the sketch and started filling in with the final ink, keeping everything on separate layers so I can easily erase and correct. This was an exercise of contrast of patterns and I loved that.
