This is me - the artist behind this account. I’m Bulgarian born to a half-Bulgarian, half-Ukrainian family. I’ve lived in Barcelona, New York, London and now San Francisco. I have a dog. I have always wanted to be an artist. When I was a child I also wanted to be a horse rider. I’m a full time artist and illustrator. My illustrations have been used on packaging, branding, editorial and even set design and experiential installation. I speak five languages - English, Bulgarian, Russian, Spanish and some German. I don’t know why my accent sounds French to you. I’m not married, but I’m engaged. My partner is also an artist. I like San Francisco - my favorite things are the views, how friendly people are, how dog-centered and environmentally friendly it is. My art studio is at @1890bryantstudios. I’ve had it for 6 months. I work in black and white because I find the world too busy and noisy and I want my work to help you unload rather than add on. I’m not sure why I used indigo color, I’m still figuring it out. I shop my clothes mostly from Zara, although I haven’t bought new clothes in a really long time. I’m older than you probably think I am. My parents aren’t artists, and although they were afraid of me making a career in art they’re recognizing how fulfilled it makes me feel. You can draw much more than just a stick figure. As long as you can hold a pen and make a mark you can draw. Everyone is artistic. Maybe only robots aren’t artistic, but I have a feeling some people would argue that. I gather inspiration from nature, but probably not in the way you think. Fellow artists, how do you deal with naming your artwork? I find that to be the hardest part of the whole process - taking your entire idea and meaning behind your art, and shrink it down to one or a couple of words describing what you mean, but also one that sounds catchy, memorable, not too pretentious, and not too underwhelming. How do you do it?! This is the first artwork where I actually feel good about the name. It represents a natural beauty, and beauty of randomness (for the lack of a better word!) and I managed to call it something more creative than “stardust”. I present you - “Freckles”!
